I have known Marianna for over ten years, and there have been many occasions when I have been able to take advantage of her photographic talent — not just to have beautiful photos, but to capture precious and unrepeatable moments through carefully crafted images. Her photography is deeply personal; from the very concept of the project, her soul is present behind every photo, every subject, every scene. Her eye and her camera capture what so many miss. Moreover, her style is today established, confident, and personal, but it is a style that has evolved gradually over time — I am happy to have witnessed it, and I am sure it will continue to evolve, a sign of her continuous growth and ability to learn and adapt. What has always impressed me most, however, is seeing how her photos manage to tell a story, not just to convey emotions, but to convey the soul of a place, an animal, a person. Her photos are alive. Marianna teaches us that photography does not only immortalize images — it can capture an emotion and make it live forever.
